JIMI JAMISON

NEVER TOO LATE

FRONTIERS RECORDS

2012

MELODIC SURVIVOR!

I liked Survivor but back in those days I wouldn’t have called myself a real fan; and over the years I’ve occasionally dipped into Jimi Jamison’s solo work and various projects with Jim Peterik and Bobby Kimball. I have to be honest though really nothing stood out as extra special.

What makes this review hard is that great voice, that at times can make up for the fact that some of the songs sound like you have heard them before a hundred times.

Where this album works is on tracks like the more reflective ‘The Air I Breathe’ and ‘'I Can't Turn Back'. But ‘Never too Late’ is the up-tempo track you should be checking out!

Sure 'Everybody's Got A Broken Heart' and 'The Great Unknown' are trademark Jamison AOR but they don’t quite hit the mark.

To be honest if you are a fan you’ll love this and if mid eighties AOR in your eyes should never be tampered with then this is possibly your album of the year!
