A REDISCOVERED CLASSIC

This disc was recorded in 1989 and is now finally seeing the light of day – thankfully.  These tracks are hair metal goodness straight out of the 80’s for those who loved bands like Slaughter, Firehouse, Steelheart, and others with great musicianship and soaring vocals.  Listening to the rock power demonstrated here, who would have thought these guys got their start as the touring band for Henry Lee Summer.

I have to be honest – I love every track here.  With rockers such as “Don’t Play With My Head,” “Get Down To It,’ and “Heat Of The Passion,” it is hard not to love this record for all its rock qualities.  Disc opener “Pump It Up” is also very rock oriented.  Many of the tracks here remind me of early Mark Slaughter, with a soaring vocal range that just pounces on each note.  The biggest problem with these tracks is that they didn’t have the proper attention and appreciation the last 20 years.

Fun rockers include “Shot Of you” and “Sock It To Me.”  These songs have an infectious energy that helps move the disc along.  The disc has its softer moments too.  “My One And Only,” “Coming Home,” and disc closer “I Love You” are also killer tracks that needed to be heard.  The way these guys have blended the rockers with the ballads would make any producer from the 80’s proud.
I cannot wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this disc – my collection has been looking forward to a great throwback disc to remind me of what was so damn good on those discs, LPS, and tapes in the 1980’s.  Get out there and pick this one up.  It is the best disc recorded in 1989 and released in 2012.
