TRIGGERMAN

BRAND NEW DAY

RELEASED 2011

Triggerman Brand New Day

Some of you are going to love this one! Loud uncompramising rolling rock with a monster groove - this seven track EP/Mini album really does the trick if you yearn after something stronger than Cluth or something riffier than Down.

The first thing that came into my head after spinning this one was how consistent this release it, you get a full seven songs of huge riffs, dark whiskey-soaked vocals and heavier than lead blues metal. It's hard to pick a favourite here. Opener 'The Riff holds sway' may set the template and it is a fine song but it's not my favourite here. I love the guitar, love the menace in the sometime spoken voice vocals and the opaque biblical allusions in the subject matter, it just all fits.

'Road to Damascus' is insanely catchy and 'Brand New Day' reminds me of little know band "Havana Black'. It's hard to find fault with anything here but if I were to have one minor cirticism the CD is a little one paced, and I was kind of hoping for an all-out assault! It's a petty criticism though as nothing disappoints about this one.

If I were to have a flutter on a few bands that could make it this year these guys would be one and their compatriots 'Trucker Diablo' would be another, different styles for sure but two very fine bands that if there were US based then I am sure they would have been picked up by now. Sometimes it just feels great o get in before the crowd arrives.

Expect an interview in the next few weeks along with a giveaway of a signed copy of the CD.
