The Parlor Mob
December 16, 2011
The Pike Room – Pontiac, Michigan, USA

By Kevin Soney

The future of rock n' roll is in good hands with The Parlor Mob. They played the Pike Room in Pontiac, Michigan on December 16, 2011. It was an all ages, packed house. More to the point, it was a good time. The band and audience moved, swayed, and danced the whole show. Everyone was rocking to neo classic rock sound of The Parlor Mob.

It was nice to see band members of The Parlor Mob, watching local opening act, Tripp N' Dixie. Once they hit the stage though, they were interacting with the crowd, enjoying the music and fans. Playing an all ages show was something a little different for them, which they mentioned, because their shows are usually 21 and over. It didn't present a problem as they are family friendly and have no swear words in their lyrics.

Once the show started, one thing was clear - The Parlor Mob came to play. There was a good mix of the songs from their debut and their newest release, Dogs. The song “Hard Times” was a crowd favorite. The audience was hipper than me, because they knew all the new stuff. The encore got everyone moving, especially me. The future of rock n' roll is bright - The Parlor Mob is one of the bands charging forward. I'm glad I got to see them now, and I'm looking forward to seeing them again.
