HAILMARY
A Million Miles And Days EP
Self-released, 2010

By Shane Pinnegar

Hard rock with a touch of early 90’s grunge sensibility is what you get on this solid EP from Perth’s Hailmary, along with some smart lyrics and top notch performances.

‘Don’t Believe Everything You Fear’ features a crunchy staccato riff and shows off Kevin Curran’s vocals to great effect.

There’s a shine on all the songs here, recorded at COCK OF THE WALK studios in Atlanta, Georgia with Jeff Tomei co-producing with the band.

‘Bringing Out The Best’ soars and swoops with some more great vocals and guitar work and closer ‘Lottery Of Life’ shows a deeper, darker and almost soulful side to the band.

With news that Hailmary are currently working on their debut album, this EP is definitely worth acquainting yourself with before the new tunes land.
