‘Barbed Wire Metal’

is the debut album from Melbourne metaler’s Elm Street. Their style is old school metal which is now very much in favour again with rock fans. Highly influenced by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and even early Metallica. Elm Street have put together a fine collection of songs that have caught the eye of the metal scene.

‘Barbed Wire Metal’ is the first track on the album and for me the weakest song out of the eight tracks and the guitars just seem a little off key. ‘The Devils Servant’s’ is just pure metal and a fine song with guitars that just grind away at your soul. But it's ‘King Of King’s’ is the track that stands out the most on the album, with its acoustic opening that then powers straight into a pure metal track of the highest quality. This is top drawer stuff a good as anything you will hear this year!

Elm Street are defiantly on the up and with a support spot on the forthcoming Airborne Tour these guys have certainly made there mark. With the cover art work by the famous rock artist Ed Repka, they are here to stay. So if old school metal is your thing, then watch out for these guys!!
