BLACK LABEL SOCIETY
Order Of The Black (2010)

Zakk Wylde went into this BLS album for the very first time not only no longer contracted to Ozzy Osbourne, but also newly sober – and it shows. This is the first BLS album in ages which has sounded so fresh and vibrant, resonating with energy and life which has been lacking for too long.

Not having to share the best of his riffs and songs works a treat for BLS, with ‘Crazy Horse’, Southern Dissolution’, ‘Time Waits for No One’ and ‘Riders of the Damned’ all ripping apart the air around your ears.

As usual there is an intriguing mix of bone crunching metal and softer songs driven by the Wylde one’s piano, and whilst Zakk’s one dimensional vocals still grate by the end of the disc, the quality of the songs and playing here make this album the first indispensable BLS offering since 2003’s The Blessed Hellride”.
