Hi, for starters wonderful weblog, but is any person else seeing the sidebar all messed up making use of firefox edition two? It truly is pushed about to your centre for me. =-=
To be honest this sound isn’t usually my thing but, but something about it really made it stand out from a lot of similar sounding releases I’ve heard lately. If you like a driving melodic take on new rock that has a flavour of, but none of the darkness of some of the lighter Goth-Rock bands around, then this might be one to add to the list.
Fireflight’s previous effort 2008’s ‘Unbreakable’ was very well received in Christian Rock circles and so is a lot to live up to. However a word of warning if you like your rock ‘n’ roll to be straight down the line fast cars, booze and babes then the Christian message is quite strong here so if preachy lyrics put you off then it may get a little grating.
Dawn has a nice voice and the tempo of the songs is pretty once-paced so its quite a light a breezy album but without and soaring highs or sweeping lows except on the ballad (and title track) which starts with just voice and piano.
Best tracks include: ‘New Perspective’ which has a bit more urgency at times ‘Desperate’ which is pretty much the staple sound, very melodic, very catchy.
For fans of that light Goth-Rock sound with a Christian message.
