TREAT

COUP DE GRACE

A new album from Treat after so long? What's going on here then?

A lot of life happens in 18 years and Treat prove that if your bag is catchy melodic eighties slanted rock then they could still be the band for you.

Beautifully produced, the album is very fluid and vocally the range is still there.

There are some signs that the band haven't just been asleep for 18 years though, and you can hear echoes from the past 20 years just drifting in here and there.

Nothing too obvious though which is nice as the band do stay very much true to the band they were all that time ago.

Big catchy choruses, great backing vocals, solid riffage: it's all there.

Of the tracks on offer nothing really disappoints and songs like 'The War is Over' really do spell quality with a capital Q, but are pretty straight forward rockers.

'All in' is probably one of my favourites though to be honest nothing fails to please.

The reunion may have been a long time coming for some and there may be quite a few other bands out there treading the reunion path. There also may be quite a few bands out there a little worried that now
people will realise the debt they owe to bands like Treat.

Listen to this and you'll be reeling off the names!

There are not many bands though who reunite and produce the best album of their career!

Listen to the catchiest of them all 'Roar' or the obligatory power ballad that is "A Life to Die For"

Then there's the tantalising "Tangled Up" or the big closer "All for love"... hell even the unlikely "Skies of Mongolia" rocks...

...and tell me it isn't so!
